About Homes for All Massachusetts.
Homes for All Mass is a statewide formation of grassroots housing justice groups working to halt displacement, increase community control of land, and win housing justice. We are fighting for the human right to housing together with a diverse array of allies including community groups, organized labor, faith communities, advocacy organizations, and more.
Housing justice means establishing a housing system in which housing is a human right, not a commodity to maximize profit. Everyone should have access to affordable, safe housing.

Why we do this work
The housing crisis didn't happen by accident. The same corporations that are raising our rent refuse to raise our wages.
Workers can't afford to live in the communities where they work. Seniors — many of whom have worked their whole lives — face disproportionately high risk of being pushed into homelessness. Corporate landlords profit from rent hikes, hidden fees, and displacement, while our communities face overcrowding, eviction, and the loss of long-standing neighborhood ties.
But this crisis is not inevitable. Through the Homes For All campaign, tenants across the state and the country are strategizing to win rent control and social housing, and building the power to take housing back from corporations — creating communities where everyone can stay, belong, and thrive.
Our Values
Housing is a human right.
Housing should be built and maintained to meet the needs of communities and provide stability for families and individuals — not to create enormous profit for corporations.
The people most impacted must lead.
Centuries of racist, sexist, classist, and oppressive housing policy have hit Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and Asian communities, women, and LGBTQ communities hardest. Our movement is strongest when the people who've lived that impact are the ones leading the way to change it.
Land and housing should be collectively controlled by our communities.
We believe communities must control the resources — including land and housing — in our own neighborhoods, and that we should relate to that land as stewards, with future generations in mind.
Our Principles
Mutual care and respect. Each person's well-being is necessary to the health of our organizations and our movement. We take care of ourselves and each other.
Each one, teach one. Every HFA Mass member is committed to training, supporting, and mentoring the next.
Grassroots democracy. We make decisions democratically, collectively, and transparently — grounded in trust for each other.
Collective action. We take action side-by-side with others to stand against unjust laws and policies, and to defend each other against displacement.
We get free together. HFA Mass is open to people of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, ages, immigration status, abilities, religions, and languages. There's no room for intolerance in our movement.
Solidarity. One for all, all for one. We don't always agree, but we know we need each other to win — and that we can't win unless we're building alongside other movements fighting for justice and liberation.
